Reinforced Concrete Pipe Specifications
Geneva Pipe and Precast manufactures a complete line of reinforced concrete pipe in sizes 12” through 96” and larger upon request. Available in a variety of strength classes, our pipe meets or exceeds all applicable local and national specifications and is manufactured in NPCA-Certified facilities. As one of the strongest drainage products on the market, concrete pipe will offer many benefits for your project. This durable and easy-to-install pipe is an excellent choice for both shallow and deep bury projects. We manufacture both standard and specially designed reinforced concrete pipe and custom pipe fittings to meet a variety of applications.
Overview
Standard
ASTM C76, ASTM C655, ASTM C990, ASTM C443, ASTM C361, AASHTO M170, AASHTO M242, AASHTO M198
Construct
Dry cast using Type III/V Cement which meets the requirements for both Type III and Type V Cement
Size
Standard diameters ranging from 12” to 96” in lengths of 8’ up to 12’. Larger diameters available.
Capacity
Meets or exceeds 13 psi for strait connections and 10 psi for deflected connections per ASTM C443. Approximate flow capacities are listed in the table below. All flow capacities are calculated assuming no head pressure, water is flowing 100% full, minimum slope of 0.1%.
Joints
Single offset joint with rubber gasket per ASTM C443; Bell-spigot (12” – 72”) and tongue and groove (72” – 96”) per ASTM C990. Profile or pre-lubricated gaskets.
Principle Uses
Typically used for the conveyance of sewage, industrial water, stormwater and for the construction of culverts. Applications include storm drains, sanitary sewers, culverts, underground stormwater detention systems, irrigation systems and treatment plant piping.
Elliptical Reinforced Concrete Pipe
Available in a variety of strength classes, our elliptical RCP meets or exceeds all applicable local and national specifications and is manufactured in NPCA-Certified facilities. This pipe is an excellent choice where height or width restrictions exist or where greater flow capacities or higher velocities are needed for shallow bury conditions or at low flows, respectively.
Standard
ASTM C507, AASHTO M207, ASTM C990
Construct
Dry cast using Type III/V Cement which meets the requirements for both Type III and Type V Cement.
Size
Standard vertical elliptical pipe in nominal equivalent RCP diameters of 18” to 54”. Standard horizontal elliptical pipe in nominal equivalent RCP diameters of 38” to 54”. 8’ lay length for all sizes.
Joints
Tongue and groove joint with flexible butyl mastic per ASTM C990.
Principle Uses
Elliptical pipe is an excellent choice when faced with height or width restrictions, or when a system needs greater flow capacity for shallow bury conditions.
Reinforced Concrete Microtunneling Pipe
The quality of the pipe plays and important role in completing a successful trenchless installations. Our pipe can be custom designed to meet project specific specifications. Utilizing a wet cast manufacturing process, we are able to produce pipe with very close tolerances that is equal or higher quality than any other reinforced concrete microtunneling pipe worldwide.
Standard
ASTM C76, ASTM C655, ASTM C443, ASTM C361, AASHTO M170, AASHTO M242, AASHTO M198, ASCE 27
Construct
Wet cast using self-consolidating concrete.
Size
Standard diameters ranging from 36” to 96”. Additional diameters available. For any specific diameter outside of this range, please contact our sales team.
Joints
Steel bell band joint design with confined O-ring gasket per ASTM C443. Designed to withstand 50 psi pressure.
Principle Uses
Microtunneling pipe is the product of choice when trying to avoid any disruption created by typical open cut construction practices.
