Diversity and Inclusion

Building a culture where everyone thrives.

Diversity and inclusion are at the heart of our values and play an important role in our Company’s success and growth strategy. As the American population becomes more racially and culturally diverse, we want our employee base to reflect the demographic makeup of the communities where we operate and the consumers whom we serve.

With a workforce that is diverse in age, gender identity, race, sexual orientation, physical or mental ability, ethnicity, and perspective, we have a spectrum of ideas and skills that help our organization to be more resilient and open to change. Northwest Pipe Company values differences as strengths and believes our success and achievements as a Company culminate from our team’s unique background and perspectives.

Programs
  • Respect in the Workplace Training – Mandatory training sessions for all employees that focus on creating a respectful work environment so that employees experience better work quality, enjoy working together, and perform at their best.
  • Leadership Development Training – Small group sessions for employees to help develop their practical competencies in leadership, building effective teams, communication best practices, change and conflict, directing work, driving results, and accountability.
  • 10 Questions – To honor and celebrate our diverse workforce, we developed a “10 Questions” Program that interviews employees and shares their thoughts related to recognition months such as Pride Month, Asian American and Pacific Islander Month, Black History Month, Women’s History Month, and National Veterans and Military Families Month.
Ongoing Efforts

Through our recent acquisitions, we have seen an increase in female managers and overall female employees in the last two years. Adding three additional manufacturing plants in Texas through the ParkUSA acquisition in 2021 also changed the ethnicity makeup of our U.S. employee base. The increase in employees identifying as Hispanic or Latino as well as Black or African American reflects the demographic composition of these communities.
