About the Job

Supervise layout, burn, fit up and welding of all fabricated specials for pipeline fabrication in quality way to meet specifications. Recommend improvements in manufacturing processes to Plant Manager and Operations Manager.

Essential Functions & Major Responsibilities
  • Ensures safety of the personnel in their department and conduct regular safety meetings.
  • Establishes practices for, and participate in the hiring, training, rewarding, discipline and corrective action of the personnel in the fabrication department.
  • Ensure that products are produced to specification, in accordance with delivery requirements and cost estimates.
  • Assist in the coordination of effort between the Fabrication department and other departments within the organization to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Requisition materials and equipment as needed.
  • Participate in problem identification and quality improvement efforts.
  • Participate in special projects as needed.
  • Ensure training of personnel.
  • Responsible for budgeting process and accountable for variances.
  • Prepares capital budget for department annually.
  • Tracks budgeted man-hours to actual by job.
  • Keeps JSA’s and SDS’s current.
  • Comply with quality policies and ISO procedures.
  • Interviews, conducts weld tests for all applicants in fabrication
Education/Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in industry related fabrication methods.
