About the Job

We are looking for a HR Assistant for our Tracy, CA facility. This includes the development of localized recruiting strategies for each location as needed. This position will be required to carry out a broad range of human resources responsibilities under the direction of our Corporate office while providing strong customer service support to the employees at the facility.

Essential Functions & Major Responsibilities
  • Processes inputs related to timekeeping data in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
  • Assists with administration of the facilities’ attendance policy.
  • Supports the HR Generalists with required leave of absence (LOA) paperwork, LOA benefit payments and COBRA administration for plant employees.
  • Maintains and files electronic and paper personnel records, updates HRIS and other HR records.  Processes new hires and terminations and initiate paperwork for same.  Prepares a variety of monthly, quarterly and annual HR reports and maintains confidentiality of employee records.
  • Submits complete and accurate organizational chart charges for assigned locations.
  • Coordinates with HR Generalist and Plant Safety personnel to submit workers’ compensation claims.
  • Maintains and updates job descriptions.
  • Sorts, assesses and responds accordingly to incoming mail and invoices.
  • Notifies HRIS of new hires to be enrolled in compliance training.
  • Tracks compliance training documents and assures that they are complete.
  • Completes and coordinates with payroll employment verifications for the facilities.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
  • Participates in ISO audits.
  • Assists with facility celebrations i.e., location specific picnics, holiday parties etc.
  • Assists and coordinate employee community outreach and volunteer activities.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

To perform the duties and responsibilities of this position successfully, individuals must:

  • Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.  Bilingual English/Spanish, preferred. 
  • Possess the ability to effectively work with varying management styles both in person and via remote communications.
  • Intermediate skills working with computers and software packages such as, Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, including use of charts and graphs.
  • Capable of prioritizing and managing multiple tasks and projects.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Education/Experience
  • Five years of experience as an HR Assistant, or relevant human resources/administrative position/administrative position.  
  • Experience in HRIS platforms such as Kronos or SAP is preferred.
