Yadkin Regional Water Supply Project

Water Transmission

The Yadkin Regional Water Supply Project in North Carolina’s Union and Stanly Counties addresses the growing demand to deliver safe, quality water to communities throughout the region. Northwest Pipe Company is providing 28 miles of 42- to 54-inch diameter engineered steel pipe for the project.

Connecting new 72” AWWA C200 spiralweld steel pipe with cement mortar lining and coating to an existing reinforced concrete pipe with an ID of 72” and an OD of 84”.

Middlesex Water Treatment Plant

Sanitary Sewer

Northwest Pipe manufactured steel spiralweld C200 pipe and fittings for this water treatment plant as it updated to ozone treatment. Fabrication of a 90-degree elbow that connects to existing pipe, 60-inch steel on one end and 84-inch RCP on the other, was critical to the success of this project.

Wavetronix

Sanitary Sewer

The Wavetronix project is a private commercial development with new wastewater infrastructure connecting to the municipal sanitary sewer system. To protect the system from accelerated corrosion caused by burping from the nearby water treatment plant, Wavetronix selected Perfect Lined Manholes as junction structures between 8-inch SDR-35 sanitary sewer piping.

City of Toronto Water Main Rehabilitation Between Island Water and John Street Station

Rehabilitation, Water Transmission

Rehabilitating a century-old water transmission tunnel that runs below Lake Ontario, the project team opted to use the sliplining method to install one-inch-thick engineered steel pipe to replace the water main. The tunnel runs between the Island Water Treatment Plant and John Street Pumping Station, which is the largest Water Pumping Station in the City.

Designed to reduce the environmental and sanitation impacts of Portland's combined sewer overflow system, the Balch Consolidation Conduit Project faced such conditions, with installation at up to 70 feet under the ground water table.
